Hey kids.

Current projects:

Drawing: 16"x21" self portrait from Will's photo, due Mon 26th.
Design: self portrait collage, FINISHED!! Might be scanned soon since it's actaully rather small.
Sculpture: organic plaster, wooden toy (not begun yet)
Macbeth: refine concept that Kelly and I have come up with. Due 2nd week Feb.

The drama kids are going to Chicago the first week of Feb.... not FAIR. If certain people do not call me and tell me about the art institute, heads will roll. :]

An artist from Penland is coming up next week, big reception for her on Tuesday and a seminar/workshop on Wednesday. Should be interesting. Also apparently lots fo fancy rich people are showing up at the reception and we're not allowed to eat anything until all these fancy people have eaten first.... baha.

There was a weak excuse for snow the other day. I got to sleep in for three hours so I care not! And hopeuflly mroe sketchbook pages will appear here soon since that's all I can give you. >.>
Some good things are coming though, personal stuff. They MIGHT have to wait until this summer, since I have Macbeth to do now! But oh, it WILL be epic. Performaces in May! I'll post details whe I know them, you must come if you can!

Wanna hear some icky shit?

Well, since most of my art is HUGE and hard to scan right now, I won't be able to post any traditional art until after I get all of my slides of all of my projects at the end of this year.
So, no traditional art will be appearing here much.

Additionally, my camera is if not dead already then dying. So, until I replace it (the D60 is down to $550!!!!! But I'm broke!!!) then there will be nothing but cellphone pictures!
UGH!

This is a biig fail fest.

In more frusterating news, I am auditioning for Theatre here at NCSA, which I am hopeful but not expectant. I just thought, why not give it a try? It's worth the effort if I get in and if I don't then I have lost nothing, I will still be a VA 2 next year.

Both drama and VA are GREAT here.... so for me it's just two halves of one heart :]

In more happy news, I went to talk to kelly (Drama dept. big cheese guy) abuot doing the playbill for the drama student's production of Macbeth in May.... and I got the job on the spot!

HOW EXCITING!!!

Their version of Macbeth is really twisted and metal. I am REALLY stoked to see it. It's set at the Gates of Hell... and they're all vampires but it's not like they redid the dialogue to be vampires, it's just that some characters and people don't die exactly the way they're supposed to. There's one of three huuge fight scenes, which I saw performed at the end of intensive arts, it's set to Rage Against the Machine, it is EPIC.

Basically, I am honored to be even minorly involved in this production.
Cause it is going to be INTENSE!

So here is the rub, both Jorjor and Luh+Weez are auditioning next year! And obviously, if one gets in and the other does not then I will be rooming with whoever got in. If neither gets in (GOD FORBID!!!) I will be screwed on the roomie front I guess. If both get in...? What do I do?

Options:
1. Room with Jordyn since she asked first at risk of her growing to hate me
2. Room with Lou since I think we would be good at living together but try to get on the same hall as Jordyn so that we can work on art together since Lou will be one busy bee all of the time anyway
3. Get a triple at risk of us all going stark mad (even though a triple is actually homier feeling than a regular double and also I think Lou and Jordyn would get along just fine.

We will have to see how the auditions pan out before we bother to talk about it, but I just wanted to throw the situation out there.

Also, the triple arrangement of the room is pretty much unchangeable, but if it's just a 2 person there are a few ways to arrange the room... but I wanna bunk beds next year forsure. It makes more room for art, meditations, yoga, blah blah blah! And we need as many rugs/carpets as possible, the tile floor sucks. And hopefully both fo you would be interested in keeping the room at elast clean, if not organizied, becuase I don't care about clothes on the floor or stuff laying around but I hate having food lying around and hair on the floor is all.
WHATEVER IT WILL WOKR OUT :]

Alright so, OBAMA IS PRESIDENT and I KNEW IT WOULD HAPPEN! Seriosuly. I have had this gut feeling since it got down to McCain/Obama that the black man was going to win. Maybe he can make some black people in this world realize that theya re just as racist as those bastards in South Carolina ;]

Just kidding. But seriously. This is so huge, people. A black man is president. I think it's awesome. It's about time we switched it up. Not to mention I am sick of the current Republican leadership.

So George W, KISS MY ASS.

Not that the Democrats are especially wonderful I just think it's time we had a democrat in the White House to maybe patch up some of the mini dictator's holes he's left in democracy. Seriously.

And there's one girl on my hall who is determined to move to Canada or soemthing, since apparently Bama is a socialist. Well, I say this: I don't really think he's a for-real hard nosed So-CI-AL-IST, but even if he has socialist ideals, even if he's a radical there had to be some tempering of extremes in Washington becuase there are still going to be plenty of Republicans in the House and Senate. I doubt they are going to sit on their asses and let anything too socialist pass through their hands. And also many Democrats are more moderate then Obama. There will be some chilling out, let me tell you.
We have a long history of presidential candidates being extremely crazy, but when they get elected not really doing anything that could be considered too left or right wing. That's why we have Red State and Blue States, people. We are forced to compromise so nothing too radical can happen.

And don't say anything about George W bending that system, because all he did was sit on his ass and let problems worsen, and when it came time to rush to the rescue of whatever happened (Iraq, the economy...ect) he came up a big fail fest. For Real. We need someone assertive in Washington who will work to prevent problems instead of waiting on them to happen and then doing a crap job of trying to fix them.

Whateverrrrr. I am busy making art anyway, and probably going to college in New Zealand if I can get any money for it.

AT LEAST Sarah Palin is nowhere near the Oval Office, is all I have to say.
